This is not increased by simply introducing more or new equipment but it accumulates through the struggle to get equipment or technology working and effectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Like evolution, technology can have spurts of rapid growth and change. The ability to adapt\/ adopt is essential. Site technology is intrinsically tied human factors. The possessors of the technology itself they are the key to successful development. This is iterative and takes time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The strength of site technology can generally be measured by a practices ability to adapt to new technology to strengthen the whole practice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Level 1<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>At level 1 there is no interest in what other practices are doing. Staff are content with the current technology or are resistant to change it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Scrutenise the industry, not just the NHS for what is happening with their site technology.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ask is the site technology keeping up with the rest of the industry?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Level 2<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>At level 2 practice there is a wide recognition that the practice is one step behind and they lack the ability to adapt\/ assimilate new technology. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The practice has a desire to move to level 3. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Develope awareness, education and diligence. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bring the site technology to be on par with the rest of the practices\/ industry. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>practices do not normally stay at level 2 for very long. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Level 3<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>At level 3 a practice is on par with the rest of the industry and has the ability to incorporate and take advantage of new technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Care needs to be taken when rating a practice at level 3. Practices can become complacent and can have little desire to improve. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> To move to level 4 complete an audit of how different it would be at levels one and two.  Then how should be at four or five. The audit should have separate parts for site technology and leading technology. This audit will show you what you need to do to move to level four. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Level 4<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A level 4 practice is ahead of the industry average. They can steadily adopt new technology <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The audits done at level 3 need to refered to and update to ensure there is no self deception. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A level 4 rating only means you are ahead at this moment. Constant work is required to review the criteria and the grading. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Level 5<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A level 5 practice is leading the industry in site technology. Additionally both basic and advanced technology are leading edge. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As for level 3 and 4 constant efforts need to made to keep complacency at bay. As the industry improves and more competitive practices get in being ahead Level 5 will become increasingly difficult to maintain.
